DCN Project Engineer
- Support the Engineering Manager and take ownership of key technical aspects of data center projects.
- Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to engineering team members.
- Help onboard and support new engineers as project demands grow.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practices.
- Manage technical designs across multiple projects and clients.
- Develop engineering scopes of work, execution plans, and project schedules.
- Create and review engineering deliverables, including:
- Prepare technical requisitions for mechanical systems and equipment.
- Support design of piping and fire protection systems.
- Provide piping load information to structural engineers.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients.
- Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, site visits, and commissioning activities.
- Respond to technical questions and support construction teams during project execution.
- Manage engineering changes and documentation as needed.
- Stay current on data center technologies and industry trends.
- Recommend innovative solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, cost, and project outcomes.
- Support the selection of coatings, mounting systems, and installation methods for equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (other engineering disciplines may be considered with relevant experience).
- Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering and design experience , preferably within industrial facilities.
- Experience with:
- Strong understanding of engineering codes, standards, and industry regulations.
- Experience producing and reviewing technical drawings and documentation.
- SolidWorks
- Autodesk Revit
- AutoCAD
- BIM 360
- Navisworks
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
