Administrative Professional

Performs receptionist work, including operating an office telephone or console. Work involves placing, answering, and transferring calls, receiving visitors, logging and delivering packages, and providing general information. Employees may occasionally perform routine clerical duties including processing mail, data entry and filing. However, they should primarily be answering calls and greeting visitors.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

• Greeting callers, answers general questions, and directs callers to appropriate staff.
• Greeting visitors and notifying appropriate staff of their arrival.
• Take messages and receives delivery packages and mail.
• Maintains visitor logs.
• Refers callers or visitors to services or resources at other agencies or organizations.
• Provide backup clerical support to Contracts Management Unit.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Experience:
Experience in operating an office telephone console and in receptionist, clerical or data entry work.
Education:
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. Skill in the use of a multiline telephone console. Ability to transfer incoming calls to appropriate personnel, to greet and direct visitors, and to communicate effectively. Ability to learn about and implement trauma-informed care practices within the scope of work for the position.

Salary: $15 hourly $31,200 annually
