Job Title: Machine Shop Helper
Location: Houston, TX 77028
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $17/hour

Openwork is currently assisting a valued client in hiring a Machine Shop Helper for a full-time opportunity in a climate-controlled facility. This role offers stability, hands-on work, and the opportunity to grow within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build wooden pallets for finished products.
• Assist machinists and shop personnel as needed.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Follow ISO standards and quality procedures.
• Wear proper PPE at all times.
• Follow required lead safety protocols, including showering before leaving and periodic testing.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience
• Proven forklift operating experience (sit-down)
• Experience handling large, heavy, or oversized materials preferred
• Carpentry experience is a plus
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Must be willing to complete a background check and drug screen
