The Houston branch of Openwork is proud to partner with Harris County to recruit 10 Election Day Surveyors for a short-term, high-impact assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected public entity, contribute to an important civic process, and earn quick income while building professional experience.

Position Overview:
Election Day Surveyors will conduct physical accessibility surveys at designated polling locations throughout Harris County. Using an issued iPad and measurement tools, you will help ensure polling sites meet accessibility standards and assist with on-site recommendations when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct accessibility surveys at polling locations using provided iPad and tools
- Take and accurately label photos documenting accessibility concerns
- Provide guidance to election judges on appropriate corrective actions
- Support the ADA team with additional tasks as assigned
Training & Schedule:
- Mandatory on-site training will take place on March 2, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM .
- Surveyors will report on Election Day, March 3, 2026, at 6:30 AM and work until assignments are completed.
Photo ID is required both days. Business casual, nonpartisan attire is mandatory.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Comfortable communicating and problem-solving with a partner
- Familiarity with using an iPad and basic tools
- Clear and accurate written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to bend regularly to take measurements or photos
- Ability to work outdoors for most of the day in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to complete a background check and drug screening
