Med/Surg RN Job Details – Denton, TX

• Location: Denton, TX 76210 (North Texas healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (46 beds, 4th floor)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (12/22/2025 – 3/23/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Self-scheduling: Available for flexible coverage
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,260 - $1,350

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas nursing jobs)
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Ability to float to surgical unit and emergency room (ER) for med/surg hold nurse duties
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Proactive, collaborative approach to patient care and willingness to ask questions

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients in a busy medical-surgical unit
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6 during night shifts
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, CNAs, and unit secretaries
• Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate patient documentation and care coordination
• Float to surgical and ER units as needed to support med/surg hold nurse responsibilities
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment for patients and staff
