About the Role

Join us as a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer at JustPark, where you’ll build and operate the cloud platforms and infrastructure that enable JustPark to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing experiences for our customers.

You’ll focus on creating and maintaining a scalable and secure platform as well as improving developer experience while maintaining strong operational standards for our customers. 

This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging problems at the heart of JustPark’s systems and help shape the direction of our cloud architecture as the business continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain platform infrastructure on AWS.
• Operate and evolve Kubernetes (EKS) clusters that host production and non-production workloads.
• Build, improve, and standardize CI/CD pipelines and deployment patterns used across engineering teams.
• Create self-service tooling and abstractions that improve developer productivity and consistency.
• Partner with application teams to support onboarding, deployments, and production operations.
• Take ownership in platform reliability, availability, security, and cost optimization.
• Implement and improve observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting across the platform.
• Automate operational workflows and reduce manual effort and operational risk.
• Contribute to platform standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.

Growth Opportunities

• Shape the evolution of JustPark’s internal platform and cloud strategy.
• Develop deeper expertise in Kubernetes, cloud-native architecture, and platform engineering.
• Grow into deeper technical leadership as the DevOps Team evolves.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, and Lambda
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools
• Proficiency in leveraging modern AI-powered tools (such as AI-assisted coding, infrastructure automation, and operational analysis) to improve productivity, reliability, and decision-making
• Dallas-based, ideally within commuting distance of our Dallas office to work in a hybrid model
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
• AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications are a plus

Kubernetes & Containers

• Practical experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production environments
• Strong understanding of Docker, Helm, Kubernetes networking, scaling, and security concepts

CI/CD & Developer Enablement

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Codefresh, or similar
• Familiarity with GitOps principles and deployment automation
• Experience improving developer workflows, templates, and tooling

Observability & Operations

• Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch
• Understanding of incident management, on-call practices, and post-incident reviews

Collaboration & Communication

• Comfortable working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams
• Able to document systems clearly and explain platform concepts to non-platform engineers

Bonus Experience

• Experience building internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure services
• Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and access management
• Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Exposure to cost optimization and performance tuning in AWS

Our Hiring Process

• First Stage Interview (30 mins) - Virtual interview with the People Team to tell you more about JustPark and discuss your background, career goals, and role fit
• Hiring Manager Interview (45 mins) - Virtual interview with the Hiring Manager to dive deeper into your experience and your interest for the role
• Third-stage - A take home tech task. We always make sure that the task is relevant for the role and efficient for the process. Our tasks vary in length based on the role and seniority but the task would never take longer than a max. of 3-4 hours to complete
• Panel Interview (1 hour) - Virtual interview with a panel of the Engineering team to discuss your tech test in more detail, your approach taken and final questions from you around the role and JustPark
