Catering Sales Assistant
LOCATION: Swift + Company, 1283 N Post Oak Rd, 77055
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
The Catering Sales Assistant is an integral member of the Swift + Company catering team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Attends walkthroughs on job sites as needed
+ Use of software to input client information
+ Use of software to build catering proposals
+ Assist in outside sales calls for catering department
+ Miscellaneous errand running
+ Miscellaneous 3rd party ordering of specialty items for events
+ Carrying out specific projects and research by deadline, following up on results
+ Acting as an event production assistant the day of events as needed
+ Catering event management-direct interaction with client, managing waitstaff, party closing and following up with event planner
+ Train to become familiar with all stages of event planning, design and production of events
+ Answering phones / taking detailed information for catering inquires to send to Director of Sales; maintaining an organized desk
+ Respond to customer service problems and resolves complaints and/or refers complaints to the appropriate department
+ Attends industry related functions as assigned
+ Follow up on outstanding payments with clients
+ Follow up on missing items with clients
+ RSVP management for catered events when necessary
+ Fill in for other positions, when necessary, for smooth operation of the business
+ Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as events usually fall on the weekends
+ Follow all procedures for safety violations and injuries
+ Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form
+ Attend production meetings + sales meetings
+ Sourcing and ordering office supplies and equipment
+ Other duties to be determined
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must maintain a professional personal appearance
+ Knowledge of the event industry. Prior catering, event planning or other hospitality experience a plus
+ Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite
+ Ability to establish and develop relationships with fellow employees, vendor and customers
+ Problem solver and solution oriented with the ability to identify and handle conflicts timely
+ Strong communication skills, written and verbal
+ Detail oriented and organized with the ability to complete and manage a large volume of high quality work quickly coupled with the ability to multi task effectively
+ Positive attitude, composure, humor, creativity, adaptability and approachability
+ Availability to work flexible day/night and weekend schedules due to the seasonal nature of the Swift + Company customers' business volume
+ Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems
+ Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
+ Must display excellent customer service skills and great attitude
+ Must be detail-oriented, patient, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic
+ Must have valid Texas driver's license and ability to drive catering vans and trucks if needed
+ Must be able to lift approximately 70 pounds
+ Must pass company drug screens / background check
+ TABC certified
