Production Manager - Coppell, TX

The Rohde & Schwarz Texas Production and Integration Center produces custom integrated RF systems. We deliver turnkey RF solutions to various customers ranging from the commercial market to the aerospace and defense sectors. Our systems are integrated into a wide variety of solutions including EMC anechoic test chambers, vehicles, and ranges. We are looking for someone to join our world class operations team to continue to deliver these high-quality products. We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Production Manager. This position demands effective collaboration with our Service, Production, and Engineering departments as well as other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who leverages data and analysis to inform decision-making. They will also be a dynamic leader skilled in implementing solutions within a fast-paced, evolving environment and be responsible for executing against our existing build and delivery processes. Working within our continuous improvement program, it will be important for this individual to use LEAN practices to meet our customers’ requirements. This position is based in our Coppell facility located near DFW airport.

Your tasks

• Manage our system production team including Assembly Technicians, Production Planners and Manufacturing Process Engineers.
• Manage all aspects of the production process, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting quality and customer expectations.
• Report on Manufacturing Status to Program Managers in a cross-matrix organization.
• Work closely with Integration Cells to provide a seamless flow of products to systems.
• Manage and direct the daily activities of production line workers: assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance
• Execute production plan by scheduling staff/tasks to meet production goals and objectives.
• Maintain requirements for safety, reliability and compliance for ISO 9001 & AS9100
• Train, coach, and evaluate staff and recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.
• Observe conditions of production floor to identify improvement opportunities and make suggestions for improvement.
• Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services
• Responsible for leading production teams, optimizing workflows, and collaborating across departments to ensure on-time delivery, safety compliance, and continuous improvement

Your qualifications

• B.S. Industrial Engineering or related degree
• 5+ years of experience in a Production Management role in an audited QMS environment.
• People management experience with a diversified team working with cross-functional areas such as engineering, procurement and project management.
• Manufacturing Engineering Experience focusing on Product Standardization and Process Design including interface to Master Data.
• User experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP system.
• Excellent troubleshooting experience, ability to develop and use systemic procedures to find faults in products.
• Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing or Toyota Production System environment.
• May require up to 15% Travel
• Ability to articulate concepts, ideas, financial and production status to a wide variety of Stakeholders
• Must be a U.S. Person capable of receiving a US Public Trust Clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $118K-$170K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
