Software Engineer - Front-end Developer

PXGEO is an innovative marine geophysical service provider combining the strengths of ocean bottom and towed streamer seismic data acquisition techniques to deliver seamless subsurface imaging for a sustainable future.
What's the role?
This role will be part of our Manta Technology team and will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of advanced user interfaces for Digest core applications. This position will play a critical role in transforming complex operational processes into an automated and consolidated operation. In addition, this position will ensure that all front-end components meet the rigorous demands of offshore environments and align with PXGEO’s seismic acquisition workflows. The role requires technical leadership, architectural ownership, and a commitment to delivering production-grade software that drives operational excellence across global marine deployments. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development of responsive, secure, and user-friendly applications.
- Architect front-end solutions that integrate seamlessly with APIs, back-end database interfaces, and efficient geophysical job processing
- Design and implement user interfaces tailored to seismic acquisition workflows and geospatial analysis
- Optimize application performance for low-bandwidth and latency-sensitive environments
- Establish and enforce front-end development standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure functional and aesthetic alignment across platforms
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
- Interface directly with PXGEO’s operations and engineering teams to ensure platform alignment with field requirements
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in front-end development, with a focus on data-intensive applications
- Proficiency in Python and web development (HTML, PHP, etc)
- Some C++ experience (preferred Qt framework experience)
- Familiarity with geospatial data interfaces and SQL query knowledge is highly desirable
- Proven ability to lead development initiatives and deliver production-grade software under tight timelines
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
