B2B Outside Sales Representative (Commercial Landscape & Sod Sales)

Overview:

We’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused B2B Outside Sales Representative to grow our commercial customer base. This role is responsible for generating, developing, and closing business with landscapers, builders, contractors, municipalities, and commercial property managers.

You are not waiting for customers to walk in, you are out building relationships, identifying opportunities, and bringing business back.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Prospect and develop new B2B accounts (landscapers, builders, HOAs, municipalities).
  • Identify and pursue large-volume sod, soil, and materials opportunities.
  • Build a consistent pipeline of qualified leads through daily outreach and field visits.

Relationship Management:

  • Become the go-to supplier for your accounts through reliability and responsiveness.
  • Maintain regular in-person contact with key customers.
  • Understand client needs and recommend the right products and solutions.

Sales Execution:

  • Quote jobs, negotiate pricing, and close deals.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Track all opportunities, follow-ups, and sales activity in CRM.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay informed on local competitors, pricing trends, and demand cycles.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on opportunities, risks, and customer behavior.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Proven experience in B2B outside sales or business development.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with high accountability and internal drive.
  • Ability to manage time, territory, and pipeline independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to be in the field daily.

Preferred:

Experience in landscaping, construction, building materials, or agriculture.

Existing relationships in the North Texas contractor/landscape market.

Conversational Spanish (or willingness to learn) to effectively communicate with crews and decision-makers.

Familiarity with CRM systems and quoting processes.

Performance Expectations (KPIs):

  • Daily prospecting activity (calls, visits, outreach).
  • Weekly new account meetings.
  • Pipeline value growth and deal progression.
  • Monthly revenue targets.
  • Customer retention and repeat business.

Compensation:

  • Small Base Salary + Commission.
  • Commission: Uncapped, tied to gross margin and/or revenue.
  • Bonus opportunities for hitting growth targets.
  • Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement (if applicable).
