Tree Climber

The Tree Climber plays a key role in leading daily tree care operations and ensuring our clients receive the highest quality service. This position is responsible for overseeing a crew in the field, performing tree pruning and removals, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment across both residential and commercial properties.

We’re looking for someone who leads by example, takes pride in their work, and has a passion for trees and the outdoors.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead and work alongside a crew to complete daily tree care projects safely and efficiently on residential and commercial properties.

• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removals, including climbing, rigging, and technical work.

• Ensure safety standards and company procedures are followed at all times.

• Communicate clearly with clients, crew members, and management.

• Conduct daily equipment and vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.

• Provide training and guidance to crew members to support growth and skill development.

• Maintain a clean and organized job site and represent Southern Botanical with professionalism.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of professional tree climbing experience.

• Previous experience leading a tree crew preferred.

• Strong knowledge of pruning standards, rigging, and aerial rescue techniques.

• Ability to safely operate chainsaws, chippers, and other arborist equipment.

• Valid driver’s license.

• ISA Certification or pursuit of certification is a plus.

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety and quality.

Include external environment dealing with all weather and terrain exposure. Safety equipment includes, but is not limited to hard hats, gloves, earplugs, safety vest and safety glasses. This position requires the ability to work during inclement weather events.
