Subsea Engineer

Genesis is seeking a talented Subsea Engineer for a long term opportunity in Houston, TX.

Overview:
As a Subsea Engineer, you will support the design, operation, and integrity of subsea production systems across the company’s offshore assets in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project execution, ensuring subsea wells, flowlines, risers, and umbilical systems are designed, installed, and operated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Develop, review, and approve subsea equipment designs (trees, manifolds, flowlines, risers, umbilicals, jumpers).

• Provide technical support for subsea hardware, control systems, and flow assurance engineering.

• Ensure subsea designs are aligned with topsides facilities, pipelines, and regulatory requirements.

Operations & Integrity

• Support subsea well operations, troubleshooting integrity issues with flowlines, risers, or control systems.

• Develop flow assurance strategies (hydrate, wax, scale mitigation).

• Oversee chemical injection programs for subsea assets.

• Maintain integrity management plans and inspection programs for subsea equipment.

Installation & Execution

• Support offshore installation campaigns (mobilization planning, vessel operations, testing).

• Review contractor procedures for subsea equipment installation, tie-ins, and commissioning.

• Provide on-site (offshore) engineering support as needed during subsea construction and interventions.

Project Management & Collaboration

• Work with project teams to deliver subsea scopes on schedule and budget.

• Interface with drilling, facilities, production, and HSE teams for integrated solutions.

• Manage contractor and vendor deliverables (technical docs, FATs, SITs).

• Ensure compliance with BSEE, BOEMRE, API, and company engineering standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Ocean, Petroleum, or Subsea Engineering

• 5–10+ years of subsea engineering experience

• Strong background in subsea production systems, flow assurance, and integrity management.

• Experience with offshore operations, subsea equipment installation, and contractor oversight.

• Proficiency in engineering software tools (Navisworks, ANSYS, OLGA, Pipesim, or equivalent).

• Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
