Hospice Executive Director - Director of Clinical Services
Santa Fe, NM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hospice Executive Director to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our hospice agency in Santa Fe, NM. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this individual will ensure efficient use of resources, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient-centered care. This is a key leadership role with full authority to implement policies and manage staff in alignment with the agency’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and oversight of daily agency operations
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards
- Delegate tasks effectively to supervisory and administrative personnel
- Oversee program planning, supervision, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives
- Develop, implement, and monitor administrative policies and procedures
- Establish staffing plans and hire personnel in collaboration with the VP of Operations
- Manage personnel functions, including performance, scheduling, and policy adherence
- Maintain contracts with external providers and ensure compliance with terms
- Promote a culture of professionalism, respect, and exceptional service
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to a high standard of integrity
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other required programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- RN license and nursing degree strongly preferred
- Minimum Associate’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, with 3+ years in a hospice or home health leadership role
- Solid understanding of healthcare operations, policies, and reimbursement procedures
- Proven ability to manage and motivate diverse teams
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance—or access to public transit
