Quality Technician-2nd shift

This position is 2nd shift only (2p-10:30p)

This position is responsible for monitoring parts and process quality and implementing and sustaining corrective and preventative actions and countermeasures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor part and process quality and implement and sustain corrective and preventative actions and countermeasures.

  • Work closely with Process Engineering and Production team members to establish and sustain robust processes and procedures, which ensure consistent high quality.

  • Audit manufacturing lines against approved manufacturing processes, procedures and requirements

  • Verify and audit incoming, in-process and outgoing material to CelLink and Customer Quality and Engineering requirements and specifications.

  • Promptly communicate emerging and trending quality issues.

  • Lead and co-ordinate containment, sorting and MRB activities as needed.

  • Support and participate in Quality System Development activities, New Product Launches, and Continuous Improvement

  • Train operators/inspectors regarding quality, inspection and repair.

  • Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline and professional competence

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Experience/Education:

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar) preferred but not required. Exceptions are based on years of experience in a similar role.

  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or process focused role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Command of the English language, both written and verbal required.

  • Mechanical inspection experience using basic and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).

  • Familiarity with common workplace software (Microsoft Office)

  • Independent problem solver who desires to learn new skills and technology.

  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Plusses:

  • Experience in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, etc.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S

  • Prior start-up experience

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to speak through a microphone or listen for software cues or other indicators that may not be presented visually. The employee must frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must stand, walk, sit, and use hands and arms to pull/push, reach, climb, or balance; and. Periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus are frequently required. Work Environment –

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.

PPE-

Where required, must wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.
