Summary

The Medical Billing Analyst is responsible for ensuring that medical billing processes are conducted accurately, efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and other teams. Responsibilities will have oversight of monthly preparation of invoices, utilization of medical billing software, and reporting functions tracking performance.

Essential Job Functions

The Medical Billing Analyst is responsible for optimizing the healthcare revenue cycle process, ensuring accurate billing, timely claims submission, efficient payment collection, and effective management of patient accounts. This position plays a vital role in billing and coding, claim management, and compliance and reporting.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Complete patient registration and reporting for claim management
  2. Perform accurate billing and coding processes
  3. Work directly with customer clearing house and billing companies
  4. Payment posting and reconciliation to maintain accurate records and financial transactions
  5. Produce accurate customer invoices
  6. Reporting and analysis
  7. Compliance and regulations
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Experience navigating Microsoft Excel
  2. 1+ years of experience in medical billing or related field
  3. Detail-oriented mindset, including ability to closely follow directions
  4. Exceptional self-management ability, including appropriately scheduling repetitive processes and effectively addressing items in a dynamic work environment
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  6. Professional in appearance and behavior

Working Conditions

This job operates in a corporate office setting. Occasional travel by automobile required.

Equipment Used

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, calculator.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform physical activity typical of a person managing an office environment and the equipment typically found in that environment.
