Receptionist

Job Summary: The Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth front office operations by managing patient check-ins, handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks. This position requires a warm, welcoming attitude and the ability to coordinate efficiently with clinical and administrative teams.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors with a professional and friendly demeanor .
• Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as needed.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate completion of paperwork .
• Verify insurance information and collect co-pays .
• Maintain and update patient records and appointment schedules .
• Assist with billing inquiries and direct patients to the appropriate department .
• Keep the waiting area organized and presentable .
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient office flow.
• Bilingual is a plus

Required Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or customer service role.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred .
• High school diploma or equivalent required ; additional training in medical administration or front office operations is a plus .
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
• Professional and courteous phone etiquette .
• Basic knowledge of insurance verification and patient billing (preferred).
