Job Summary-
The Poolside Server/Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests at the pool area, following hotel standards. This dual role involves preparing and service alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, taking food orders, delivering orders promptly, handling payments, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the pool and pool service areas. The position requires maintaining high levels of guest service, adhering to all legal and hotel policies, and working collaboratively with the pool team to provide a seamless experience for guests through all touchpoints.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Activities)-
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
- Food & Beverage Service: Set up, serve, and deliver food and beverage orders to poolside guests according to hotel standards. Confident knowledge of menu and ability to make recommendations.
- Payment Collection: Handle cash and process payments accurately using the POS system (InfoGenesis). Ensure proper recordkeeping and deposit at the end of each shift.
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Monitor and adhere to the rules and regulations established by the TABC, including the monitoring of guest consumption and knowledge of procedures for handling intoxicated guests.
- Guest Relations: Build rapport with guests, remembering their names and preference. Provide excellent customer service and anticipate guest needs. Thorough knowledge of and correct application of all hotel policies, procedures, and practices. Responsible for maintaining hotel standards of excellence relating to attitude, customer service, employee relations, and job performance.
- Pool Deck Maintenance: Regularly pick up used food and beverage service items, clear any trash or debris from the pool deck, assist in replacing soiled towels and chair covers, maintain cleanliness of pool deck and pool service areas. Report maintenance issues to management as needed.
- Appearance & Presentation: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor throughout the shift. Ensure adherence to uniform guidelines are met and uniform remains in good repair.

Other Standard Responsibilities-
Experience-
- Previous serving/bartending experience in medium to high volume operation is an advantage
- Previous service bar or service experience in a bar environment is an advantage
- Previous server experience and cash handling experience in an upscale poolside environment an advantage

- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Technical Skills -
- Must have alcohol server's certification or become certified as required by company policy.
- Cash handling experience with ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers.
- Ability to clearly communicate information to customers, managers, fellow employees.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs 5 times a day.
- Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc
Education or Certification
TABC Certification Required Food Handler’s Certification Required
Language-
- Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
Physical Requirements-
- Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
- Outdoor pool environment – constantly exposed to heat and wind, slippery surfaces
