We are currently seeking a seasoned and motivated Demolition Operations Director to oversee our team of Demolition Project Managers and Estimators. The optimal candidate is one who demonstrates a strong work ethic, has ambition, takes initiative, and possesses the leadership and management skills necessary to take advantage of the many advancement opportunities within our organization. Position Overview
The Demolition Operations Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of all demolition project management and estimating functions. This role ensures that all demolition projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with deep industry knowledge and a proven track record in demolition project management and estimating.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Oversee, mentor, and manage a team of Demolition Project Managers and Estimators, ensuring operational efficiency and professional development.
- Establish performance goals and accountability metrics for the team to drive project success.
- Lead workforce planning, including hiring, training, and evaluating team members.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement.
Project Oversight
- Provide high-level oversight and support for all demolition projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement best practices for project execution, including resource allocation, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
- Serve as a key point of escalation for project challenges, working with teams to identify solutions and mitigate risks.
Estimating & Financial Management
- Supervise the estimating team to ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable project bids.
- Analyze market trends, labor costs, and equipment pricing to improve estimating accuracy and profitability.
- Work closely with executive leadership to develop and manage operational budgets.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all demolition activities adhere to industry regulations, environmental laws, and OSHA standards.
- Champion a strong safety culture, implementing proactive measures to minimize risks.
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal and external safety protocols.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as a key liaison between project teams, clients, and executive leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead contract negotiations and resolve project disputes as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15-20 years of experience in demolition project management and estimating.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior management role within the demolition industry.
- Strong expertise in commercial, industrial, and bridge demolition projects.
- In-depth knowledge of demolition methods, equipment, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor teams while driving operational success.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and profit margins.
- Proficiency in project management software, estimating tools, and MS Office Suite.
