Ready Mix Area Manager
A well-established building materials organization is seeking an experienced Bilingual Ready Mix Area Manager to oversee operations at facilities located in Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX. This leadership role is responsible for managing ready-mix plant production, site facilities, equipment utilization, safety, environmental compliance, and personnel across both locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership, deep ready-mix experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provide overall leadership and oversight for ready-mix operations at multiple facilities
Cultivate a positive work environment and a strong safety culture, promoting accountability and recognition
Assume full responsibility for safety within transportation and plant operations
Oversee safety, environmental compliance, cost control, production, and maintenance for all ready-mix facilities
Establish and monitor production plans, ensuring accurate cost control, inventory management, and productivity tracking
Document production statistics and prepare operational reports and analysis as required
Oversee mobile equipment utilization and performance
Manage capital and operating budget processes
Develop and implement plans to improve performance and reduce operating costs
Ensure quality control processes are in place to meet customer and product specifications
Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations, including accident investigations, reporting, training, and safety meetings
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on safety, environmental compliance, quality, and materials performance
Maintain positive relationships with customers and the local community
Lead personnel management, performance development, and employee engagement
Ensure preventive maintenance programs are completed and properly documented
Observe job site testing and perform comparative testing of ready-mix concrete
Implement and maintain driver training programs covering safety, driving techniques, truck maintenance, ticketing, payments, delivery standards, and customer service
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing ready-mix operations, including yard production and product delivery
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience
Must have Project Management in construction industry.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Experience in planning, budgeting, and cost control
Strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and safety requirements
Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
Experience managing teams across one or more locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer service–oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within a vertically integrated construction materials organization
Familiarity with Command Batch and COUPA systems
Experience working with SAP or a comparable ERP system
