Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine Houston, TX

Job Opportunity – General Medicine Provider – Louisiana
Start Date: Ongoing, PRN basis
Location: Fort Polk, Louisiana
Compensation: $600 per half-day (4 hours or less) / $1,200 per full day (5+ hours) plus one-time $650 bonus upon completion of training and first exams
Schedule: 2 days per week, flexible half-day or full-day shifts available
Highlights:
- Perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans
- Primarily interview-based exams with some physical assessment including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- No prescribing or treatment required – non-treatment exams only
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Must have own office space within 20-mile radius of service area
- Flexible PRN schedule with option for half-day or full-day shifts
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Louisiana medical license
- AANP certification required
- Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or General Medicine
- Proficiency in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
- Own laptop (Windows-based, no Mac/Apple products)
- Willingness to complete DMA training and certification
- Own compliant office space with wheelchair accessibility, appropriate exam rooms, and medical equipment
- Self-Query NPDB within 30 days of application
