Data Center BMS Operators

MalaceHR is seeking an advanced Building Systems Specialist to serve as the technical expert for Building Management Systems (BMS) and critical infrastructure in our data center operations. This specialized role requires advanced analytical expertise in monitoring, optimizing, and innovating automated building systems to ensure 99.99% uptime and peak performance of mission-critical IT infrastructure. The position combines deep technical specialization with leadership of complex technical initiatives and process improvement.

• Apply advanced analytical methods and specialized expertise to monitor, analyze, and optimize the data center's Building Management System on a 24/7 basis
• Conduct sophisticated performance analysis using advanced data analytics to identify patterns, predict failures, and recommend system enhancements
• Develop and implement innovative maintenance methodologies and predictive analytics for BMS sensors, controllers, and integrated systems
• Lead complex troubleshooting of HVAC, power distribution, fire suppression, and security systems using advanced diagnostic techniques
• Create comprehensive technical reports with detailed analysis of energy consumption, environmental trends, equipment efficiency metrics, and capacity optimization recommendations

• Serve as the primary technical expert and lead for all BMS-related initiatives and complex technical projects
• Propose and implement improvements to processes, methodologies, and system integration approaches
• Coordinate work activities beyond own area, facilitating cross-functional technical teams and vendor partnerships
• Lead technical evaluation and implementation of new technologies, system upgrades, and infrastructure enhancement projects
• Develop and standardize advanced technical procedures and best practices for critical systems management

• Participate in capacity planning initiatives and long-term infrastructure strategy development
• Lead emergency response technical teams during critical incidents, coordinating complex system failovers and recovery procedures
• Analyze and interpret industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advances to recommend strategic improvements
• Collaborate with engineering teams on facility design optimization and future technology integration
• Provide technical expertise for compliance with advanced industry standards (ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute) and emerging regulations

• Serve as subject matter expert, providing advanced technical guidance to operations teams, junior specialists, and external partners
• Develop and deliver technical training programs on complex BMS operations and advanced troubleshooting methods
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge management systems
• Mentor technical staff in advanced analytical techniques and specialized system expertise

• Associates degree in Engineering, Building Automation, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3+ years of advanced experience with Building Management Systems in critical environments (data centers, hospitals, mission-critical facilities)
• Demonstrated expertise in leading complex technical projects and process improvements

• Professional certifications such as CEM, CBCP, CDCP, PE, or advanced manufacturer-specific certifications (Schneider, Johnson Controls, Siemens) preferred
• Expert-level proficiency with multiple BMS platforms, SCADA systems, and advanced analytics tools
• Advanced understanding of data center infrastructure including electrical distribution, mechanical systems, and cooling technologies
• Specialized knowledge of networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON), system integration, and IoT technologies
• Advanced analytical skills for complex data interpretation, trend analysis, and predictive modeling

• Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate complex technical initiatives
• Advanced problem-solving capabilities for unique and complex technical challenges
• Excellent technical communication skills for presenting complex information to diverse audiences
• Experience in process improvement methodologies and technical innovation

• Advanced data center or mission-critical facility technical leadership experience
• Expertise in energy management, sustainability initiatives, and advanced efficiency optimization
• Experience with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) systems and advanced facility analytics
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and technical team leadership
• Understanding of high-voltage electrical systems and advanced safety protocols
• Multi-site technical coordination and standardization experience
• Experience with emerging technologies such as AI-driven facility optimization and predictive maintenance systems
