Senior Accounting Specialist (HGES)

: Job Summary: The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting customer billing and the service order system. Essential Job Duties: 1. Create customer invoices per customer contracts a. coordinate / maintain customer billing system b. create / review customer invoices c. review service order structures to support accurate invoicing and revenue recognition d. maintain schedules for required billing points to ensure invoice contract terms are met e. support other accounts receivable functions as required 2. Provide General Ledger accounting analysis / reconciliation as required a. produce month-end closing schedules / reconciliations b. create journal entries to support activity for the G/L c. coordinate service order analysis for management 3. Support mid-year and year-end review/audit requirements 4. Support management requests for ad hoc analysis 5. Support overall service order system for accounting 6. Support customer settlement process 7. Maintain supporting documentation 8. Support non-aircraft workflow as required 9. Support monthly revenue recognition and analysis as requested 10. Assist in receivables collection process as assigned 11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller Secondary Duties: Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Accountabilities: Accountable to the Controller Job Qualifications: Minimum: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Minimum two (2) years general Accounting or related experience (or one-year Service Order planning/administration experience) 3. Proficient with Excel, Mainframe system and 10 key data input. 4. Must have working knowledge of accounting documentation controls. 5. Individual should be a self-starter requiring minimum supervision. 6. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Preferred: 1. Bachelor of Arts/Science in Accounting/Finance. 2. Four (4) years general ledger accounting experience. Physical Requirements: 1. Must be able to lift 15 pounds, climb stairs, bend, and stoop as necessary. 2. Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required. 3. Normal office environment where approximately 70% of work is performed in a sitting position. 4.
