RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in 14-22 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on the 5th floor of West tower
• Day shift staffing includes charge nurse and 4-6 nurses (prefer charge nurse free), plus unit secretary
• Night shift staffing includes charge nurse and 4-6 nurses (prefer charge nurse free)
• Patient ratios for medical/surgical cases: 4 patients to 1 nurse
• Use Meditech electronic medical record system
• Required certifications: BLS and PALS
• Preferred certification: ACLS
• Work 4 weekend days every 4 weeks with no on-call responsibilities
• May float to NICU level 1 or 2 only
• Handle typical procedures including cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, lumbar punctures
• Manage seizure patients and provide noninvasive cardiology care
• Support neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, and thoracic cases including thoracotomy/thoracoscopy and pectus bar implants
• No neurosurgery, stroke cases, or foreign body removal from airway
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• Work in supportive and collaborative team environment where everyone helps everyone
