Patient Care Technician Job Details

• Location: Dallas, TX 75237 (Dallas healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital (50 beds)
• Position Type: Travel Contract
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:30 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $900 - $920

Patient Care Technician Qualifications

• Active CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or PCT (Patient Care Technician) certification required
• Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital, acute care, or rehabilitation setting
• Strong clinical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and a commitment to patient-centered care

Patient Care Technician Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and clinical support to patients recovering from stroke, amputation, trauma, and complex medical conditions
• Assist nursing staff with daily activities, mobility, and rehabilitation routines
• Monitor, record, and report patient status using EHR systems (Cerner, Epic)
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment such as IV pumps, EKG machines, and bariatric beds
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and healthcare team members
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and quality of care
