Accounts Payable Specialist

THE ROLE:

The Accounts Payable Specialist processes accounts payable transactions and provides general support to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end Accounts Payable cycle from receipt of invoice to payment as well as participating in several project teams within the company. The position requires a solid understanding of general accounting processes including the related systems, applications and controls.

This position will be based in our Austin, TX headquarters with a flexible hybrid schedule requiring 4 days in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Accounts Payable cycle: processing invoices, acquiring approvals, and getting vendors paid in a timely fashion

• Review/approve Expense Reports, ensuring compliance with company policies

• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, vendors and independent contractors

• Handle inquiries regarding payments and invoices

• Assist with year-end financial audit and other audits

• Prepare 1099s and other tax filings as needed

• Assist with accounting software improvements and implementations

• Organize and maintain accounts payable email inbox, files, and records

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Minimum 2 years accounting experience

• Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

• Superior organization skills

• Proficient in MS Excel

• Ability to multi-task and manage time well

• Team player and ability to collaborate with other departments

• Detailed oriented

• Self-starter with ability to work independently

• Ability to adapt in an environment where change is a constant

• Prior experience with NetSuite, AirBase, Ramp, and Tipalti a plus
