GIS Technician

CornerStone Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our Geographic Information System (GIS). Under the general direction of the GIS Analyst, this role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate voter registration data and supporting election operations through cartographic design, drafting, and mapping.

Pay: $21/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the creation and editing of graphical and tabular data within GIS and registration systems

• Support the GIS Analyst with GIS applications and problem-solving initiatives

• Collect, edit, and publish data while adhering to proper procedures

• Perform quality control on data exchanges between systems to ensure accuracy

• Update information and interpret statistical data for redistricting purposes

• Provide custom map creation services for internal and external clients

• Digitize map data using GIS software and resolve discrepancies in non-matching data from the State

• Assist in managing GIS data systems, performing monitoring, interfacing, and data verification

• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in GIS, computer graphics, cartography, or a related field

• Proficiency with GIS software and tools

• Experience with spreadsheets, word processing, or specialized software/applications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

• Ability to define precise geographic descriptions and resolve logical problems

• Intermediate oral and written communication skills

• MUST have ARCMap experience
