Senior Compliance Tax Analyst

Exciting Details:

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Grapevine, TX

Salary: $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually

Essential Responsibilities:

· Review and assist monthly, quarterly and annual excise and sales compliance tax returns.

· Monitor new customer set up, exemptions, and other tax setting.

· Annual monitoring and collection of Federal and state tax exemptions, such as the Texas dyed diesel exemption and state sales tax exemption.

· Respond to related tax correspondence and research issues.

· Assist with IRS and state audits of excise and sales tax audits.

· Assist with preparing quarterly and year-end financial reporting.

· Maintain knowledge & proficiency in current federal and state income tax laws and regulations.

· Assist in gathering information, researching tax issues, and drafting formal responses to federal and state audit requests.

Other Functions:

· Special projects as requested

· Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

· 5+ years of relevant Federal, state and local tax compliance experience.

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Excellent analytical skills, motivation and confidence to independently address issues.

· Ability to work in complex environment.

· Ability to work independently or within a team as required.

· Effectively communicate with staff and Tax Department management.

· Be flexible and adaptable to change.

· Strong organization and documentation skills.

· Develop productive relationships with other departments and offices.

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

· Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
