Location: San Antonio, TX (Fully Onsite)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $21.00 / Hourly

About the Role

A well-established primary care medical organization is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Medical Biller to join its revenue cycle team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong physician billing and collections experience who thrives in a fast-paced, independent, onsite environment. You will play a key role in reducing aged accounts, resolving denials, and identifying payer trends to support consistent and accurate reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up on aged accounts receivable and high-balance medical claims
• Research and resolve claim rejections and denials from commercial and government payers
• Resubmit corrected claims and supporting documentation as needed
• Analyze denial trends to identify root causes and recurring issues
• Maintain accurate claim tracking using spreadsheets and internal systems
• Communicate claim status updates, trends, and findings to leadership
• Ensure timely and accurate resolution of outstanding claims
• Collaborate with billing and AR team members to meet departmental goals

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 1+ year of medical billing or collections experience , preferably in a primary care or physician practice setting
• Proven experience managing aged AR and high-balance claims
• Strong understanding of commercial and government payers (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
• Hands-on experience resolving denials and identifying recurring billing issues

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working from spreadsheets
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines without close supervision
• Professional, positive, and proactive work ethic
