About the Role

Xycarb is seeking an experienced and technically driven Application Manager to support our growth in the semiconductor, solar, LED, and OEM markets. This role blends technical product expertise , customer-facing support , and innovation leadership . You will partner closely with Sales, R&D, Product Management, and global teams to drive product development, solve complex customer challenges, and strengthen our market position.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, customer engagement, and strategic innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation & Product Development

• Validate the 3-year business cycle plan and maintain monthly rolling forecasts.
• Develop application roadmaps using industry trends, market insights, and customer feedback.
• Propose and manage R&D projects that support long-term product innovation.
• Lead global product development initiatives with cross-functional teams.

Sales & Customer Support

• Support Sales through customer visits, calls, and technical discussions.
• Provide data-driven technical support on product specifications, parameters, and performance.
• Assist with technical input during tendering and pricing processes.
• Contribute to commercial materials and maintain accurate product data.
• Support Customer Service with technical inquiries.

Consulting & Troubleshooting

• Deliver application consultancy as part of business support or standalone services.
• Respond to technical inquiries related to Xycarb products and services.
• Write technical papers on EP1 Centura package components.
• Provide expertise on susceptor-related issues.

Training & Knowledge Development

• Train Customer Service, Sales, and engineering teams on products, systems, and processes.
• Educate personnel on contamination reduction, cleaning methods, and quartz handling.
• Report on market positioning and customer valuation of Xycarb products.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Maintain Installed Base Information and provide monthly analyses.
• Supply market intelligence to support growth strategies.
• Analyze product performance versus OEM alternatives and share insights with stakeholders.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and support team members to achieve shared goals.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and optimize team performance.
• Identify skill gaps and support employee development.
• Conduct performance reviews, workforce planning, and recruitment.
• Ensure compliance with QESH procedures and maintain a safe, high-quality work environment.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical background in semiconductor, solar, LED, or OEM applications.
• Experience translating customer needs into product and service solutions.
• Background in process transfers, concept development, and end-user insight programs.
• Global project management experience preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, physical, and safety testing processes.
• Strong market research and market dynamics knowledge.
• Familiarity with Schunk Xycarb products, processes, and quality standards (preferred).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead teams and collaborate across global functions.

• Professional office environment with occasional outdoor work.
• Regular verbal communication, standing, walking, and handling materials.

Travel Requirements

• Regular domestic customer visits (~20% or more).
• Occasional international travel.
