Salary: $38,000 - $42,000
Position Summary: To oversee all public relations & agency awareness efforts to create and maintain visibility of our programs in the community. Also to enhance community giving through special events to allow us to provide a continuum of services.
Community Relations Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Two years of related work experience (marketing, donor relations, fundraising, non-profits, program development)
- Bachelors degree or two additional years of related work experience
- Two years supervisory experience
- Experience in event planning and fundraising preferred
- Must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance as required by the State of Texas
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing & Public Relations:
- Maintain and enhance community awareness regarding the mission, services, and needs of SAAFE House through a marketing plan that uses a variety of mediums which reflect the diversity within the communities we serve
- Work to develop presentations and programs that enhance community awareness about family violence and sexual assault related issues
- Assist the Executive Directors in serving as a spokesperson to the media and community
- Assist the Executive Directors and other agency employees in maintaining positive relationships with other agencies, community partners, funders, and professional organizations
- Assist Executive Directors with grant and foundation research
- Develop and maintain the website, to include information about SAAFE House services, job postings, awareness initiatives, and upcoming community events
- Attend community sponsored events as needed
- Develop and maintain social media presence across various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for all service areas
Fundraising and Donor Relations:
- Oversee annual and quarterly strategic planning & development for fundraising and events
- Oversee all fundraising events conducted by our organization
- Assist other coordinators in planning and carrying out event programming in all counties that we serve
- Assist with development and management of a fundraising budget
- Assist in evaluating the cost effectiveness of our events
- Attend agency sponsored community events
- Serve as a liaison for all events being conducted on our behalf
- Oversee plans for any holiday appeals or any other public appeal we do through the community
- Develop and maintain a donor database
- Ensure continual contact with SAAFE House supporters, to include newsletter mailings, e-mailings, social media, and timely letters of appreciation and recognition for contributions given
- Research new resources within the community to help fund and support the organization
Community Education:
- Develop and implement presentations and programs that enhance community awareness about family violence and sexual assault related issues
- Providing community education in Walker, Polk, San Jacinto, and Trinity counties using presentations, special events, and public awareness campaigns
- Identify community events & programs that highlight special awareness months, most specifically Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April), and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (February)
- Responsible for managing all speaking engagements, including maintaining detailed records of schedules, presenters, and presentation materials.
Development:
- With the Executive Director to develop, implement, and coordinate a strategic plan with short-term and long-term goals, objectives, and budget that incorporate the organizations mission and long-range plans
- Assist the fundraising committee with ongoing and annual evaluations of community programs, and implement changes or additions as needed
- Provide ongoing evaluation information of marketing and fundraising programs to the Leadership Team
- Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures, funding sources, and directives from the Executive Directors
Program Support:
- Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director to inform the Board of Directors of monthly and YTD revenue, and upcoming opportunities for the agency
- Adopt and practice the agency model of open, honest, and ethical communication and communicate effectively with clients, customers, and other staff members
- Ensure communication between all community-based employees and programs
- Attend meetings pertinent to job performance
- Responsible for inputting all related data into appropriate tracking systems and/ or databases
- Provide direct service and on call coverage to the agency as needed to ensure 24-hour availability of quality services

Physical Sensory:
- Ability to walk, stand, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, bend repeatedly, grasp, pull, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 45 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle and operate motor equipment
- Conditions include working closely with others, working alone, working while children are playing close by, working protracted or irregular hours
Supervisor: Executive Financial Director
Work Schedule: Regular Schedule Hours Monday Friday 8:30 5:00 (Flex Time Policy)
Some evenings and weekends required dependent on agency needs
Primary Work Location: Huntsville Office
Status: Exempt, Full Time
