Strategic Business Development Lead (Bird Electric)
Job Summary
Bird Electric, a Black & Veatch company, is a U.S. self-perform electrical construction services provider with a national reach in emergency power restoration. With more than 600 employees, Bird Electric delivers grid solutions and operates in adjacent distributed infrastructure markets. The company also has long-established relationships with fuel producers and energy providers.
This role will assist with driving new business growth. Maintain relationships with accounts. Collaborate with company offered solutions to solve client's challenges and needs. Assist with setting account strategies and guiding proposal/project teams during pursuits. Be the voice of the client internally.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with client engagement activities from opportunity creation to business capture
- Keep the Client Relationship Management tool updated and aligned with governance to ensure accurate tracking and management of client relationships.
- Account management (build & maintain client relationships; develop and follow sector-led key account plans)
- Generate and qualify sales and marketing leads
- Assist with developing client strategy (segmentation, prioritization, identify key accounts, sales/Go-To-Market strategy)
- Assist marketing strategy in collaboration with Enterprise Strategy (thought leadership, industry experience, etc.)
- Accountable for overall client satisfaction and conduting client satisfaction surveys.
- Full responsibilities for this position will vary by Sector or Region.
- Ability to grasp highlights of the deal; including margins, risks, terms & conditions, etc.
- Assist in proposal development (where applicable) and client presentations.
- Responsible for targeting and researching new client acquisition and expaniing existing client base.
Minimum Qualifications
- Typically 5 years of experience within the EPC industry or Sales. Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.
- Familiarity with sales and/or project execution work.
- Understanding of competition and differentiators.
- B2B sales experience a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly, and to convert technical or complex information and concepts into easily understandable content.
- Experience using Salesforce a plus.
- Minimal Industry knowledge and understanding
- Minimal Relationship Buidling skills
- Minimal Value-Based Selling skills
- Minimal Terms & Conditions understanding
- Communication and technical capabilities
- Presentations and composing emails
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred, with technical or business focus. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be accepted.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Office/Remote. Travel and various work environments required to achieve Sales goals.
