Nursery Worker/General Laborer Schertz
Mortellaro’s Nursery has Nursery Worker/General Labor jobs available with our nursery maintenance and plant production crews in Schertz, Texas.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Pulling Weeds,
- Potting Plants,
- Trimming Plants,
- Moving Plants,
- Watering Plants,
- Loading and Unloading Trailers,
- General Housekeeping, and
- Other plant related duties to be performed on a rotational basis with supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Depending on the seasonal workload, it may be necessary to work before and/or after the scheduled start and end of day times.
- Perform manual labor while working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
- Lift up to 50 pounds. Assistance will be provided for heavier or bulky items.
- Stand for long periods of time and endure extensive walking.
- Maintenance of plant material will require manually moving plants, trimming, using a shovel for digging, pulling weeds by hand, raking debris, and other tasks; all require an ability to bend, stoop and squat.
- Load and unload plants and supplies on trailers and vehicles.
- All applicants who have received a conditional offer of employment will be required to undergo and pass preemployment drug and alcohol testing.
- Employees, thereafter , will under go and pass random drug and alcohol testing.
Beneficial Skills:
- Nursery or landscape experience is helpful but not required.
- Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
