Legal Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary 67023

Our client, a Houston area law firm, has a new opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary/Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team. While working both independently and collaboratively to accomplish a dynamic set of tasks as may be assigned, day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft and prepare agendas, orders, and resolution required for Board of Directors meetings and prepare multi- lingual agendas for election matters (outside translation services are used).
  • Prepares documents for obtaining the approval for annexation of land to districts and administers the applications for such approval.
  • Provide documents for the required annual review of investment policies and investment strategies; prepare required certificate pages.
  • Maintain district files and permanent documents.
  • Review and finalize correspondence, including proofreading, editing and redlining.

Requirements:

  • 4 or more years of experience supporting multiple corporate/transactional attorneys in a law firm setting is required.
  • 2 or more years of administrative assistant experience, included strong typing, editing, and clerical/administrative skills is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite of programs (especially Word, Outlook, Excel), Workshare Compare, and NetDocs (or other document management systems) as well as working knowledge of Adboe Acrobat is required.
  • Knowledge of Texas real property online recordings (CSC - ePrepare), Texas Secretary of State recordings/searches (SOS Direct), and Texas Comptroller (eSystems) is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of e-filing in both State and Federal courts is a plus.

Compensation is salary with overtime pay and is competitive based on experience or skill level; yearly, discretionary bonus possible.
