The University of Texas - MD Anderson Cancer Center's Diagnostic Imaging department is one of the most advanced imaging centers in the world, dedicated solely to cancer care. DI provides:
  • Comprehensive imaging services including CT, MRI, PET/CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine.
  • Specialized oncology-focused imaging utilizing state-of-the-art technology for detection, staging, treatment planning, and monitoring.
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary model involving radiologists, nurses, technologists, and oncology teams.
  • High-volume, high-acuity patient care , offering nurses exposure to complex oncologic cases.
  • Strong emphasis on patient experience , ensuring comfort, communication, and high-quality care throughout the imaging process.
The Outpatient Clinical Nurse at our Woodlands location plays a vital role in patient preparation, education, safety, procedural support, contrast management, reaction response, throughput coordination, and high-level patient interaction.

The Outpatient Clinical Nurse coordinates and delivers patient-centered, evidence-based care across the continuum in Diagnostic Imaging. This role works as part of an inter-professional team, advocates for patients and families, and supports staff development to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift / Hours: 10-hour shifts / Monday - Friday: 11:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. and rotating weekends: Saturday & Sunday, 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

EDUCATION
  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license. Upon Hire and
  • Required: BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or
  • Required: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Upon Hire and
  • Required: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support If working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761). Upon Hire or
  • Required: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following departments: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi - Child & Adolescent Center (113200). Upon Hire
  • Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification Certification in specialty practice area. Upon Hire
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
