Job Summary:
The Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and key stakeholders in the construction industry. This role is focused on securing bid invitations, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring long-term client satisfaction to contribute to the companys continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the data center and commercial construction sectors.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase market share and revenue.
- Work closely with estimators and project managers to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and project owners to position the company as a preferred subcontractor.
- Regularly meet with existing and potential clients to understand their needs and upcoming project opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and ensure exceptional customer service throughout project lifecycles.
Bid Invitation & Project Acquisition:
- Secure bid invitations by proactively engaging decision-makers in the industry.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and potential projects lead through industry networking, market research, and CRM tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and present competitive bids that align with client needs.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination:
- Work closely with estimating, operations, and project management teams to ensure alignment between sales efforts and project execution.
- Communicate client expectations and project details to internal teams for seamless handoff from sales to execution.
- Provide regular sales reports and market analysis to the leadership team.
Networking & Industry Engagement:
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and generate new business leads.
- Represent the company professionally in all business interactions.
- Other role related responsibilities outlined by the Account Managers supervisor as position needs shifts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within the construction industry, preferably in subcontracting.
- Strong network of industry contacts, including general contractors and developers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and sales opportunities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of the bid and estimating process in the construction sector.
- Ability to travel is needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data center construction or related fields.
- Bachelors degree in business, Construction Management, or a related field.
