CPS RD Admin Asst III
- Prepares, reviews, edits and disseminates various types of print and electronic correspondence, reports, forms and records.
- Assists with compiling and entering data provided by program tracking and reporting systems.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail for the Regional Director.
- Coordinates the purchases and receipt and distribution of office furniture and supplies.
- Maintains filing and record keeping systems and serves as the regional records manager.
- Performs liaison duties between Regional Director and region, state office and administrative staff. Tracks and coordinates various types of inquiries and administrative actions.
- Handles inquiries and complaint calls, responds to questions, takes messages, and provides referral information to clients or staff.
- Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares appropriate vouchers and forms.
- Coordinates and completes special projects and assignments involving various program related activities. Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.
- Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
- Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
- Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill in effective verbal and written communication.

- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Three years full-time administrative support, general office, clerical, secretarial or PRS experience.
- Ninety semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required experience
- CPS experience working in an office that dealt with confidential records or documents.
- CPS experience assisting public and/or answering customer inquiries over the phone, through personal contact, correspondence or Email.
- CPS experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and windows.
- CPS experience explaining policies and procedures, rules, or regulations.
- CPS experience handling and maintaining files, records, or logs.
As a state agency, DFPS is required Texas Administrative Code (TAC 206 and 213) to ensure all Electronic Information Resources (EIR) follow accessibility standards. The staff must be familiar with the WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 to create accessible content including but not limited to; Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs, webpages, software, training guides, video, and audio files.
