Commercial NGL Scheduler/SR

Position Description:
This position is within Kinder Morgan’s Midstream group, reporting to the Manager – Commercial Scheduling. This individual is the main point of contact for customer inquiries, analyzing and resolving issues regarding daily scheduling activities for natural gas and gas liquids on the various Kinder Morgan assets. These activities include nominations, confirmations, scheduling, allocations, and transportation logistics. This candidate should understand upstream and downstream departmental relations, as well as work closely with Operations and Commercial teams.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Communicate with internal and external customers, operations, marketing, and pipeline personnel on daily and monthly scheduled activities.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with producers, marketers, pipelines, and various internal business owners.
- Managing daily transportation logistics and schedules for all NGL products and residue gas.
- Daily confirmations with point operators which can include rail, barge, trucks, and pipelines.
- Participating in the on-call rotation and ability to work weekend, evening, or holiday shifts when scheduled.
- Responding accurately and timely to customer inquiries concerning operations and/or contract requirements.
- Reviewing and monitoring customer contractual rights as defined by the contract.
- Monitor SCADA and give directions to gas control to ensure the pipeline is operating safe, efficiently, and environmentally responsible.
- Processing allocations of physical flow.
- Reviewing and monitoring quantities and qualities of various products being transported or delivered.
- Reconciliation and resolution of contractual imbalances on a daily and monthly basis.
- Analyze and fully understand complex change requests and resolve competing priorities.
- Ability to comprehend the entire workflow from contract creation to invoicing.
- Completing end of the month closing responsibilities.
- Following through to appropriate areas within the company concerning issues relating to all the above.
- Special projects and other daily, weekly, or monthly assignments as required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent related work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years in NGL scheduling or a related role preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service position where complex concepts are conveyed using various communication tools within a limited time-frame.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload in fast paced and frequently changing environment.
- Ability to balance competing priorities while working in tight and changing deadlines.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and establish relationships and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Working in a team environment as well as working autonomously with limited direct supervision.
- Use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with the DART system or equivalent transactional data systems is a plus.
- Experience or knowledge of rich gas systems is a plus.
- Ability to read various documents; electronic and paper.
- Ability to work in office environment at a workstation, usually sitting, for long periods of time.
- Ability to work remotely (telecommute), if required.
- Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies and/or Company Policy.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and complex problem solving.
