Physical Therapist - Travel Contract
Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join us as a traveling Physical Therapist in Houston, TX at an outpatient clinic where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, document care, supervise students as assigned, and participate in quality and safety initiatives. Professional practice, compliance with regulatory requirements, and participation in ongoing professional development are required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Texas Physical Therapist license required prior to the start of the assignment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
- Experience with outpatient practice and 60-minute evaluations and treatment sessions preferred.
- Ability to complete timely, accurate medical record documentation, including goal writing, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry.
- Familiarity with safe patient handling principles, infection control, and workplace safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
- Experience supervising or mentoring students preferred.
- Demonstrated engagement in professional development and quality improvement activities preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift pattern: 5x8 (40 hours per week).
- Evaluation and treatment sessions typically scheduled as 60-minute evaluations plus treatment time.
- May be required to follow clinic policies on appearance, attendance, and safety practices.
