Position Summary
A Solar Laborer/Installer supports construction, maintenance, and repair activities on utility‑scale solar sites. This role focuses on safe field practices, basic equipment handling, and assisting technicians in maintaining solar facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety at all times, following all safety practices and requesting guidance when performing unfamiliar tasks.
- Assist with basic solar equipment maintenance, including testing, troubleshooting, and routine upkeep under supervision
- Install solar modules, racking systems, wiring, and related hardware according to project specifications.
- Assist with layout, measurement, and assembly of solar arrays.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Support basic troubleshooting and adjustments during the installation process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with site cleanup.
- Replace or repair basic solar components (such as wiring, hardware, or modular components) under direction of staff.
- Operate and care for company tools, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring proper use and condition.
- Perform general labor on solar job sites, including site cleanup, material handling, basic mechanical tasks, and supporting technicians.
- Respond to on‑call assignments to assist with emergency repairs when directed by a supervisor.
- Document all work performed with accurate reporting and adherence to quality procedures.
- Support process improvements and new technology adoption by providing feedback to EPC and site management teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude through training or prior work experience.
- Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments.
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems (preferred, not required).
Preferred Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and document work accurately.
- Familiarity with solar installations or basic construction labor.
This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00/hr.
