Traffic Engineer

Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team in Dallas, TX. As a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in traffic engineering and transportation planning, you will play a key role in managing and delivering a wide range of transportation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, project management abilities, and a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering transportation projects. This position will report directly to the President and will involve managing multiple projects, directing team members, and interacting with clients.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Manage multiple transportation projects concurrently, including traffic engineering studies, transportation planning, roadway design, and traffic signal optimization. Take ownership of project budgets, staffing, scheduling, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance in traffic engineering and transportation planning, including traffic impact analysis, traffic signal design, traffic modeling, and transportation system optimization. Ensure that projects comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing direction, support, and feedback to ensure high-quality project deliverables and professional development of team members. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies on transportation projects. Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs, communicating project progress, and addressing concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, planners, surveyors, contractors, and public agencies, to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of project deliverables with client requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct thorough reviews of technical documents, plans, and specifications.
- Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project budgets, resource allocations, and project schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, with a focus on project management.
- Proficiency in traffic engineering software such as Synchro, VISSIM, and HCS.
- Strong technical knowledge of transportation engineering principles, traffic analysis methodologies, and transportation planning processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience directing and mentoring junior staff members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
