Koch Tax is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our Data Management, Enablement and Transformation team, specifically to support the Tax Calculated Product Portfolio. The ideal candidate for this role will need the ability to develop relationships, strong problem-solving skills to resolve and offer solutions in both functional and technical areas, and the ability to identify opportunities to advance and improve the product(s) and surrounding technologies. This candidate will leverage an innovative and collaborative mindset to partner with all levels of the organization to achieve a common goal.

Our Team

The D|MET (Data Management, Enablement and Transformation) team is focused on developing a long-term sustainable capability utilizing data and technology to transform finance. This includes a diverse group with multiple teams focused on data platform technologies, specific data products and transformation. Our strategy will empower the finance and tax organizations to create superior value while consuming few resources, unlocking analytical capabilities, mitigating risk, and meeting ever-changing regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do

• Ensures technical consistency across the portfolio of calculated data products to preserve a streamlined user experience.
• Independently identify upstream and downstream impacts, document inconsistencies across products in the portfolio as opportunities for product enhancements, raise risks and provide alternatives proactively.
• Partner with multiple cross-functional groups and data product teams to gather requirements, design, and implement data management solutions that are reusable and scalable.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong ability to influence, build trust and generate strong partnerships with stakeholders to understand needs, clarify expectations, and deliver value-driven solutions.
• Displays superior organization skills and can help the team convert vision and decisions into actionable work items with dependencies identified and test scenarios defined.
• Partner with product owners to understand roadmap in order to inform technical delivery of product features.
• Collaborate closely with architecture and engineering leads to integrate changes into the product solutions and teams' ways of working. Ensure team members are trained on and apply best practices as changes are rolled out.
• Responsible for safeguarding data through security and access management practices applied across the product portfolio.
• Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, leveraging technology to transform and optimize.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Understanding of the data development life cycle and data management principles (ETL/ELT process, SDLC (Software development lifecycle), metadata management, data quality, etc.)
• Ability to ask good questions to dig deep into processes; drive to truly understand product team needs and system issues
• Experience communicating with users/stakeholders/management at various levels within an organization
• Experience working in an Agile team, writing acceptance criteria that translates business needs to technical requirements and vice versa

What Will Put You Ahead

• A deep curiosity and willingness to trace gaps in metadata and processes back to the originator to address and resolve issues proactively at the source
• Experience in impact analysis and ability to continually improve processes
• Project or product management experience
• Experience articulating complex problems in simple terms
• Experience working in finance or tax organizations
• Experience with technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, Streamlit, Sigma, Python, SQL, Azure Dev Ops, or Jira
