Project Surveyor

UTEC is looking to add a Project Surveyor to the team. The Project Surveyor will provide technical survey expertise while assisting Project Managers to achieve safe and profitable execution of assigned projects. They will initiate and coordinate communication between all concerned parties including customers, suppliers, and both onshore and offshore Company staff. The Project Surveyor will contribute in continually monitoring and improving procedures to ensure quality results are achieved.

Duties

• Assist in managing the complete lifecycle of projects, from award phase, through planning, execution, monitoring, completion and closeout phases, as well as post-completion evaluation and review
• Contribute to project risk assessments prior to mobilization
• Confirm and accept transfer of project material generated during the bid stage to project teams, including contract requirements, technical specifications, and commercial terms needed for proper execution of projects
• Assist in project execution and be responsible for identification, documentation, and action on contractual variations as they arise
• Assist the Operations Management of personnel requirements for projects
• Source project equipment both internally and externally for project execution
• Identify and mitigate potential technical, commercial, QHSE risks for assigned projects
• Administer and assist with specific project tasks
• Review survey specifications in contract and project documentation
• Provide input for the preparation of commercial and technical proposals as required
• Conduct site and client visits as required
• Utilize the appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to properly facilitate compliance with Company standards
• Compile project specific survey procedures in line with the Company's operating procedures
• Work with other disciplines within the Company to ensure high quality technical content for commercial and project support
• Keep abreast of relevant technical developments, working practices and Company procedures
• Provide technical support to offshore teams as and when required
• QC and issue of final reports in line with agreed timescales.
• Completion of project risk assessments prior to mobilization
• Participate in quality control of final deliverables to client
• Utilize the appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to properly facilitate compliance with Company standards
• Liaise with internal logistics personnel to coordinate offshore staff and equipment mobilization

Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Offshore survey industry experience as a Senior Surveyor and/or Party Chief required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with deep-water survey projects is required
• Professional accreditation in survey or a related discipline is preferred
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential
• Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
• Ability to competently and professionally present project materials in client meetings, as well as identify and mitigate client concerns
• Ability to work both independently and within teams
• Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the company routinely operates
