Part Time Accountant
Our client Harris County is in need of a Part Time Accountant. Please see the job details below, this is a Temporary position.
Pay Rate: $22.00
Location: Houston, TX 77002 (Downtown Houston)
Schedule: 20 hours a week (in person the first 2 weeks, Hybrid schedule after)
Job Duties:
- Review attorney vouchers to determine whether they satisfy approval conditions. Troubleshoot and respond to basic questions by attorneys in a timely manner regarding voucher submission process, procedures, and payment status
- Assist with office-critical functions such as maintaining attorney assignment calendars, office supply management, organization of meetings and conference calls, and interfacing with the public as well as contacts within the county for general purposes related to the MAC Office.
- Serve as a backup to administrative assistants and other front desk duties. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of local government services is desired. Must possess effective oral/written communication and telephone skills for interacting with the public, court personnel, attorneys, judiciary, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; presents a positive demeanor, works well with the public, including those detained in jails and prisons, and clients’ families and other staff.
- SKILLS: Skills in performing data entry/retrieval, documenting, reporting, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and working under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and JIMS programs are desired.
- ABILITIES: Must have organizational, problem solving and basic mathematical computation skills.
