ROLE IMPACT
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards in a public sector environment. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring timely financial reporting for the client’s internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform reconciliations and prepare journal entries to maintain the general ledger
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and government accounting standards
• Prepare financial statements and reports for review by senior staff
• Utilize advanced accounting software to manage data and financial records

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Advanced accounting software (ERP systems preferred)
• Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas)
• Financial reporting systems
• Document management software
• Government accounting platforms (preferred)

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with governmental accounting practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working in a structured, compliance-driven environment
