Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist manages and maintains all aspects of the accounts receivable function. This role ensures timely, accurate invoicing and collection, reconciliation of accounts, and resolution of any billing issues. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with clients and internal teams to process payments, improve cash flow, and support overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts receivable of all types including commercial and residential clients.

- Generate and distribute invoices and statements to clients in a timely manner.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging, ensuring prompt collection of outstanding invoices.
- Process client payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic transfers on a daily basis.
- Contact past-due clients to collect outstanding payments, resolve payment discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve billing and payment issues, working with clients and internal departments.
- Prepare and present accounts receivable reports for management, highlighting key trends and potential issues.
- Collaborate with the sales and client service teams to address billing concerns and improve client satisfaction.
- Implement and suggest improvements to processes, policies, and controls for efficient receivables management.
- Maintain accurate records of client transactions and correspondence for audit and reporting purposes.
- Represent the organization with confidence by being a subject matter expert when communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding all things Accounts Receivable (billing questions, collections, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or a related finance role required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, resiliency, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, develop solutions, and communicate effectively as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with landscaping or construction industry practices and regulations.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
