Multi-Craftsman
Summary
The Concrete Multi-Craftsman will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: rod busting, carpentry, form setting and wrecking, concrete pouring and finishing, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. A great attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail and safety protocols are essential to success in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Select, cut, and construct lumber and other structural components using manual and power tools.
- Assist in building scaffolding, and bracing along with any other temporary structures.
- Install and tie rebar as illustrated in plan or as directed by supervisor.
- Assemble and install pre-engineered forming systems
- Set anchor bolts and embeds.
- Inspect forming and bracing to ensure they are suitable for the pour at hand.
- Pour concrete and vibrate, screed, or trowel to ensure proper concrete settling and prepare surface as necessary or as described in plan.
- Operate Equipment (forklift, skidsteer, backhoe, excavator work, etc.)
Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment. - Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
- Follow project instructions from foreman or superintendent.
- Perform site clean-up when projects are complete.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed.
- Must be able to travel up to 100% throughout Texas, and occasionally out of state, as needed.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Great attitude and strong work ethic.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of material and up to 100 pounds of material with assistance.
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties which may often change, repeating tasks of short duration according to a set procedure.
- Proficient in measuring and cutting.
- Must be punctual and reliable (Must have reliable transportation).
- Must have steel-toe boots, rubber boots, long pants, and minimum 4” sleeve on shirt
- Minimum Tool Requirements: tool pouch, sledge hammer, tape measure, torpedo level, plumb-bob, speed square, 100’ tape measure, wire reel and belt, pliers, hand trowel, hand float, edger.
Working Conditions
Work involves various types of conditions encountered while working on construction sites.
- Frequently walk, stand, bend, climb, stoop, or kneel. Use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. May be required to work in confined spaces. Must have quick reaction time and vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and good depth perception in order to adjust focus, judge distances and space relationships. Potential exposure to loud noise (construction site) and variable weather
conditions including rain, snow, cold and extreme heat. - Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
