Job Summary Provides professional accounting expertise to ensure that transactions of the Company's operations are accurately recorded, analyzed, and reported in a timely, cost-effective manner in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in compliance with regulatory, state and federal requirements. In addition, will develop reports to internal and external parties that are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Essential Functions
  • Analyzes information, collects and cross-references supporting documentation to prepare/review accounting schedules, documents, reports and/or journal entries
  • Use analytical and spreadsheet skills to prepare analyses and journal entries
  • Reconciles account activity and resolves discrepancies
  • Interprets and monitors corporate compliance with GAAP/Regulatory/State and Federal requirements
  • Ensures proper retention of records
  • Interfaces in a variety of forums to obtain or to provide financial/accounting information and provides financial/statistical information (written or oral) as requested; prepares reports for internal and external auditors
  • Investigates and analyzes emerging accounting and regulatory issues and problems and provides appropriate recommendations; researches corporate policies and develops appropriate recommendations
  • Performs all aspects of work with high degree of effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy
  • Participates on and/or leads cross functional project teams involved in the design, development, testing and implementation of automated systems, reengineering of processes, or implementation of new requirements
  • Stays abreast of industry and business issues and understands and applies this knowledge in current activities
  • Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
Education Description
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting or Finance. Masters preferred.
  • CPA or CPA eligible.
Experience
  • Minimum of five years full-time accounting or financial experience.
Additional Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • CPA licens is desirable but not required
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to apply accounting theory and principles
  • Skilled in performing financial and statistical computations
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (use of and understanding of intermediate-level formulas and pivot tables)
  • Proficient in effectively communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form
  • Excels in quickly conceptualizing and assimilating data to make decisions and take appropriate action
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment
  • Able to take a leadership role on a project team to establish plans, coordinate team activities, and assure successful completion of objectives
  • Works independently through the use of initiative and self-motivation
  • Adapts effectively to new and changing environments
  • Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct Accounting, Regulatory and Industry research
  • Experience with SAP and current versions of Microsoft Office Products
