Position Summary : We are seeking a highly trustworthy and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial affairs of a private personal estate. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, tax coordination, and asset management to ensure the estate’s financial integrity, compliance, and long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate demonstrates discretion, strong technical accounting expertise, and experience working with high-net-worth individuals or private estates.

Key Roles / Responsibilities :

• Maintain accurate general ledger and all financial records


• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements


• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and investment activity


• Reconcile bank, brokerage, and credit card accounts

• Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets


• Track expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgets


• Provide financial forecasts and scenario planning


• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations


• Maintain documentation for audits and legal reviews


• Track performance of investment portfolios and real estate holdings


• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial and personal matters


• Exercise sound judgment and ethical conduct at all times


• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with private estates, family offices, or high-net-worth clients


• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations


• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems)


• Advanced Excel skills


• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills


• High level of integrity and discretion

Working Conditions :

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.


• Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.


• Moves throughout the building to access files.


• Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.


• Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.


• Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.


• Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
