Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sandblaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in surface preparation and finishing techniques, particularly in industrial settings. This role is crucial for ensuring that surfaces are properly prepared for painting or coating, contributing to the overall quality and durability of our projects. A strong understanding of various materials and techniques will be essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Assess the condition of surfaces and determine appropriate blasting techniques.
- Prepare materials and work areas by masking off sections that do not require blasting.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sandblasting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols to protect yourself and others from hazards associated with sandblasting.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Document work completed and report any issues or concerns to management.
Qualifications
- Experience with stucco, plaster, commercial painting, or industrial painting is preferred.
- Knowledge of color theory and its application in finishing processes is a plus.
- Skills in maintenance person tasks such as caulking, frame carpentry, drywall installation, or welding are beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to sandblasting operations.
