Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Texas Petroleum Group (TPG) is a retail fuel company managing ~300 retail gas stations in Texas with a variety of commercial constructs. Operating under the Tradename Timewise the team has a strong legacy of operating excellence in the Texas market and takes pride in their customer service and bottom-line focus. Recently acquired by Shell, Texas Petroleum group is being operated independently as a wholly owned subsidiary. This ownership change brings ambitions for accelerated growth as well as new regulatory and compliance requirements to be implemented. The company is at a crossroads and entering a phase of significant transformation and growth.

As a relatively new position, the Treasury & Assurance manager will be responsible for all banking and cash management activities as well as implementing and embedding a fit-for-purpose financial control framework that allows Texas Petroleum Group to remain efficient while also meeting the regulatory and corporate requirements of our parent company - Shell.
The successful candidate will have a track record in creating new and being adaptable. This role is transformative in nature and will change rapidly. The incumbent will be an organized self-started that is eager to bring new ideas to the team but also bring others along the change journey.
Job Duties:
Treasury:
- Manage all operational banking activities.
- Working capital forecasting, management, and optimization (working capital >$XXM)
- Owner of company credit card program including day to day program management, policy owner and responsible to assure compliance.
Assurance & Governance
- Support TPG Controller to implement financial control framework including policy and procedure documentation, implementing new processes and tools and liaising with parent company financial control experts. Once stable, the roll will be responsible for the ongoing assurance programs.
- Owner of TPG Corporate assurance plans for financial controls and business controls. This includes managing and executing the internal assurance program to self-check compliance to our policies and procedures throughout the team. This plan is developed aligned to the company risk matrix. It also includes coordination with parent company teams on their audit programs. Governance focal point for TPG includes the custodian of the manual of authorities, remaining connected to parent company focal points to implement governance changes that apply to the subsidiaries and the first point of contact for internal staff to understand their authorities.
As a member of the broader accounting team, continuous collaboration with the controller to improve end-to-end delivery of core accounting and finance functions will be key to success. The team is changing rapidly and the role will adapt with the company at this pace.
Required experience:
Minimum 2-5+ years in corporate finance or Big 4 audit/governance/controls/risk experience or equivalent experience
Experience with cash management and banking
Bachelors degree in finance or Accounting
MBA, CPA, CTP preferred
